CPA 2026 Changes

Starting 2026, AICPA will conduct the CPA exam every month, offering more flexibility for aspirants.

Core Subjects - FAR, AUD, and REG

Elective Subjects - BAR, ISC, and TCP

Note:

  • Testing for US CPA Exam will be from 23rd January, 2026

Starting in 2026, AICPA & NASBA will remove the 150 credit hour requirement for US CPA licensure. Under the new pathway, candidates need only:

  • 120 credit hours (Bachelor’s degree)
  • 2 years of relevant professional experience
  • CPA Exam (Bachelor’s degree)

Note: Each state board must formally adopt this change before it takes effect. Keep an eye on your state’s implementation timeline!

Important News About Exam Dates

  1. Electives Exam dates are comparatively less than core dates. Hence, it’s advisable to watch the recorded sessions and prepare well in advance.
  2. Results are coming out every month for core subjects. We need to be more careful while planning elective exams as the results waiting time is more and the number of exams is less.
  3. For the second quarter of 2026 only, AICPA can able to adjust the testing dates and score release dates to accommodate the credit extensions through June 30, 2026.
